Started fishing with my uncle at about six years old and like most anglers my first fish was a Perch (caught on maggot on the Shropshire Union Canal). Fished the local ponds for Crucian Carp for a number of years until I joined the army at 16 in 1976! Then discovered beer and women and did not go fishing again until 88 after getting married!! (can't think why!!!). Had some fantastic fishing in Germany where 3lb+ Roach, 40+ Barbs between 4-7 lbs, 10lb Bream etc in a session are not uncommon! Returned to UK semi - permanently in 92 and joined Wareham club but also fished Pallington extensively. In 97 came back to UK permanently and joined Wimborne and Dist but became disillusioned after they lost a number of their better waters (both still and river).
Joined RDAA a number of years ago and feel that I have settled on the best local club. PB's Barbs 12.8, Chub 6.14,Roach UK 2.9 EU 3.8, Pike 20.8, Carp 15.8, Tench 7.0, Grayling 3.4. Bream 10+ (can't remember exactly how big) and many more including a 40kg Sailfish on a 12-20 outfit which was awesome!!
